What does flux density mean for magnets and how is it calculated?
Flux density describes the number of lines of magnetization per square centimeter of pole area.
The total number of magnetic field lines passing through each 1 cm x 1 cm of pole area is called magnetic flux density (also called magnetic induction). Flux density is measured in gauss or tesla (10,000 gauss = 1 tesla).
