Electromagnet

What is an electromagnet?

An electromagnet works on the principle that an electric current not only allows electrons to move through a circuit but also produces a weak magnetic field. If a wire with sufficient power supply is also coiled, the magnetic field can become even stronger. Iron or steel objects surrounded by such a coiled electric wire also become magnetized. However, the magnetic field of an electromagnet depends on electric current, which is why this type of magnet is sometimes not as useful as permanent magnets. But because they can stay magnetized even under the most difficult conditions and have a higher field strength, they are indispensable for a wide range of applications.
