Can magnets be machined?

Yes, magnets can be machined. However, hard magnetic materials are extremely difficult to machine, unlike flexible or rubbery magnetic materials. As far as possible, magnets should be machined in the unmagnetised state using diamond tools and/or soft grinding wheels. In general, it is advisable not to machine hard magnet materials unless you are familiar with these special machining techniques.
