Isotropic

What is an isotrope?

A magnet made of magnetically isotropic material has no preferred direction and has the same properties in both axes. During manufacture, the isotropic material can be manipulated to apply the magnetic field in either direction. Neodymium magnets are anisotropic due to their strength, while flexible magnets are usually isotropic so that the entire magnetic field can be applied from one side of the plate.
