Irreversible

What do irreversible losses in magnets mean?

Partial demagnetization can be caused by high temperatures, external magnetic fields, shock or vibration. Under certain conditions, a magnet will recover the lost magnetism, but in extreme situations, the magnet will lose a percentage of its magnetism that will not be recovered, called irreversible losses. For example, a magnet is subjected to temperatures that exceed its maximum operating temperature.
