Horseshoe magnet
What does a horseshoe magnet look like?
The best known magnet, a horseshoe magnet, is a permanent magnet, usually made of Alnico material. In most cases, a horseshoe magnet has a north pole on one of its tips and the south pole on the other. Horseshoe magnets are usually stronger than bar magnets because their pulling force is doubled when they are attached to a piece of ferrous material that spans both poles, creating a closed circuit.
