Closed circuit

When does one describe a closed circuit on the subject of magnets?

A closed magnetic circuit describes an arrangement of magnetic and ferrous material that directly connects the north pole of a magnet to the south. In a closed circuit, the magnetic field lines can flow freely from north to south and all magnetic flux density is maintained in the closed circuit. In a closed circuit, there is no external magnetic field because all magnetism is consumed in the circuit.
