Coercivity

What does the coercivity mean?

The coercivity of a magnetic field is the intensity or energy required to reduce the magnetization of a magnetized (to saturation point) object to zero. It essentially measures the resistance of a magnetic material to demagnetization. The coercivity of the magnetic material is measured in Oersteds (Oe) - the higher the number, the greater the magnet's resistance to demagnetization.
